Heron Way 10k Trail Run and Fun Run

The third Heron Way 10K Trail Run will be held on Sunday 8th Oct at 11am.

A children’s Fun Run will be held at 10am.

The event will also feature refreshments and a bouncy castle. Fun for all the family!

All runners will receive a medal, race memento, cup of tea/coffee and a piece of homemade cake.

The Heron Way 10k Trail Run (over 18s) is a mainly off road race starting and finishing at Heron Way Primary School and taking in the paths of St Leonard’s Forest. All proceeds are in aid of Heron Way PTA (registered Charity Number 295493).

Before the event there will be a one mile children’s Fun Run. The run will be held exclusively in the grounds of the school.

Cost

10k entry (over 16s only) £15 (£20 on day if tickets available, entry is limited to 250 runners).
(Early bird entry £12.50 until 01/08/2017)
Fun Run entry – £3.50

Prizes

• First Male/female finisher.
• First male/female Heron Way Parent or guardian.
• First Heron Way Staff member.
• Mystery Prize. This will be given to the winner of a pre decided but unannounced category, i.e. First finisher in green shorts or most muddy finisher etc. The mystery category will not be announced till after the race.
• There will be a fun run prize for the best fancy dress.

Timings & Results

The fun run will begin at 10am and the 10K race will start at 11am. Please arrive at the start line 10mins before the race as there will be a race briefing. There will be a prize giving at 1pm. Results will be posted on the race website within 48hrs. There is no chip timing at this event. The race referee’s decision is final.

Dogs

Please note that dogs are not allowed to accompany runners during the race.  It is the policy of Heron Way School that dogs (with the exception of guide dogs) are not allowed on the school premises at any time.

Parking

Parking will be available at the front entrance to Millais School in Depot Road. postcode: RH13 5HR.  Please note this car park will be unmanned. This is approximately a 6 min walk from the start line.  Turn right onto Depot Rd and then right at the mini roundabout onto Compton’s Lane. After approx 150m cross the road and turn left into Heron Way.  Follow this road for approx 300m until you arrive at the school.
THERE WILL BE NO PARKING DIRECTLY OUTSIDE THE SCHOOL OR IN THE SCHOOL GROUNDS.

Bags

Bag storage will be available at the school.

The Start/Finish lines are in the grounds of Heron Way Primary School, RH13 6DJ

Cancellation

If the organisers have to cancel the race for any unforeseen circumstances then they reserve the right to retain part of the entry fees to cover costs.

Medical Provision

Medical assistance will be provided by St Johns Ambulance Service. If you feel unwell during the run please inform a Race Marshal, who will summon help. Please stay with the Race Marshal until help arrives. If you have any medical condition, please give details on the reverse of your race number and a contact telephone number. All runners must declare that they are medically fit to run and take part at their own risk.

Refreshments

Teas, coffee, soft drinks and light refreshments etc will be available
